The IB philosophy expresses its vision of educating young people to make the world a better place. It encourages students to adopt an active attitude of learning during life, to be compassionate and to understand that other people, with their differences, may also be right. It seeks to develop enthusiasm and interest from an integral education, so that they can apply what they have learned to everyday situations and face challenges from an open and international mentality.
The DP curriculum consists of six subject groups and the core components: Theory of Knowledge (ToC), Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) and Extended Essay.
Thanks to these core components, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, carry out independent research and a project that often involves community service activities.
In Austin the program becomes visible through the following interconnected subjects through Theory of Knowledge.
Spanish A: Literature
Language B: English
