In both behavioral and brain imaging studies, exposure to a bilingual environment shows a significant impact on the simultaneous mastery of two languages. The positive result is highlighted in different aspects of child development: linguistic, cognitive and literacy tasks.
Children who experience early, systematic and extensive exposure to two languages quickly master their basic aspects in an identical way to monolingual learners.
Portuguese has become one of the most sought-after languages locally by the emerging growth of Brazil in South America and in the world. In Austin EBS we start learning the Portuguese as early as from 4th year. The learning of this language is easily incorporated by our students because the approach involves the knowledge of a new culture together with learning the celebration of certain typical festivals that give the process a joyful frame.
It is a program aimed at young foreigners who want to get to know our country and learn or improve the Spanish language.
Every year, families of our community offer themselves as hosts of foreign interns, who during their stay of 3 to 6 months, participate in different classroom activities in the school with the students.
This experience is highly enriching because it allows us and all to exchange life experiences and share the culture of the country of origin of the intern, as well as listen to native speakers.
